We are a bit surprised at all the good reviews. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice and cute, but we were unimpressed by the food. We started with the onion tart which I could've easily made on my own and I thought it would've been two or three tarts on a plate, but no just one small tart. My boyfriend had the cod and it was bland with a bunch of bones. He also got sick after. The Point Reyes blue cheese salad was also boring/could've easily made it on my own and same with the Mac and cheese. We spent $180 for two on such small portions on one dinner. All in all the service was attentive, but the food was nothing special. We won't be back.
We had a wonderful lunch at Trillium! Everything we ordered was amazing, from the crab cakes to the pumpkin mousse. Defiantly recommend.
Yep, we had so much fun! Champagne and ordered appetizers and had 2 desserts. All delicious and the staff was so kind and friendly. Wonderful place.
We saw lots of great reviews so thought we'd stop in for an afternoon snack. Although it was a lovely garden setting and the service was decent, their food needs some serious work! Steer clear of the arugula fig salad thing. Slimy figs on a mountain of arugula, a few pumpkin seed sprinkles and some bland soft cheese. Extremely sub par. I think it was $16 .. I ate 3 bite and couldn't do any more. The wait staff although very attentive did not seemed the least interested or concerned why my salad was uneaten. (As if this happens frequently?? Just disappointing.
Trillium is outstanding in all areas. Service is professional and friendly. We sat in the tent in the garden and the ambiance is very pleasant. We started with local mushrooms sautéed and they were delicious. The local seafood soup was full of fresh fish. The main course was fresh Rock Cod perfectly seasoned and pan seared. When in Mendocino dine at Trillium.
