Fantastic location, spectacular building, amazing winery, very good tour explaining the whole rationale for the location and the winery, fabulous food. We had the wine pairing lunch. The food was excellent, the range of wines tasted well above average in number and quality. Well worth it
This new Bodega is a very impressive modern building blending with the landscape. It is interesting to see how the younger generation of the Zuccardi Family is exploring new concepts in producing wine in this new bodega. Looks like going back to basics is the new trend, bigger casks and concrete storage tanks similar to how wine was made long time ago. Be sure to try their wine named “Concreto”. Our four course lunch meal was delicious, the complimentary wine was excellent, and the views surrounding the restaurant are amazing. We enjoyed tasting all different olive oils they produce. Service was great. It is a long trip from Mendoza but absolutely worth visiting this extraordinary bodega. Be sure to make reservations, open Wednesday to Sundays. We decided to dedicate a full day for this trip, 1h 45 min for 97 km, one way. With GPS and Google maps we went down Ruta #40 to Tunuyan. For our return we took Ruta #89 to Tupungato enjoying the vineyards of Salentein and Andeluna, to connect to Ruta #86, passing through Atamisque to end in Agrelo. It was a long day, we were glad to get back to our villa at Cavas Wine Lodge.
A lovely winery that's sustainable. Focused on terrior effect on grape maturation. A must see in Mendoza. Panoramic views of Andes.
What a great experience. The wines were fabulous, the food over the top, the views of the Andes stunning and the service was spot on. Gorgeous facility will be coming back just for the experience. This was better than any of the wine experiences in the Uco Valley. Why go anywhere else?
My wife and I were fortunate to book a winery tour and lunch at relatively short notice, especially as this winery had just been voted No1 hospitality winery in the road by an august group in London Zapata, another Mendoza winery was voted number 5. The trip from Mendoza took about an hour with our driver from the Park Hyatt, David; a lovely and knowledgeable man. The setting resting up against the Andes is breathtaking. The tour is one of the more interesting we have had of late, keeping in view we live in the Santa Ynez valley in CA and are frequent visitors to Napa and Sonoma. The soil is unlike anything we’ve seen and the interior of the property, with the family vault is spectacular, modern a bit like Antinori in Chianti but made of local materials. After the tour, it was on to lunch under the careful hand of Frederick the sommelier. Four courses of wonderfully prepared food; aubergine egg plant starter with amazingly fragrant herbs and dressing; local trout with softly sautéed potatoes, followed by the piece de resistance....dry rubbed ribeye...wish I could include the photo. Lastly a baked apple with soft cheese and a delicate honeyed sauce. All good paired with copious amounts of selected wines and finished off with an Argentine version of port. We got there at 12.15 and left at 5.30....please try to make this trip.
