Aunt Charlotte's Candies

Aunt Charlotte's is my favorite place to shop for chocolates and candies. Their products are always delicious and fresh. The staff is professional, knowledgeable and happy to help. There is something new to see and taste every time I visit. They are very busy around the holidays especially, Christmas and Easter, so be sure to shop early and be prepared to wait for help selecting your perfect gift. They have the best stocking stuffers and their Easter chocolates are beautiful. Aunt Charlotte's never disappoints. They have the best selection of chocolates, candies and gifts for everyone.

Hands down the best caramel apples in the world!!!!! If you have never tried one you need to!!!

If I had to sum this place up, I'd say: mostly chocolate and stuffed animals. Also other candies and holiday decor. Much kitsch, much sugar. The candy selection is pretty straightforward they have the usual suspects of hard and soft candies, most of which they've pre packaged by weight and priced. Then they have a selection of chocolates and truffles (again, the standards) that you can buy by weight/piece. The service model is pretty strange. They don't take candy from the display, but instead go into a back room to get your chocolate. The result of this system is that service is sloooooow. I also found it to be not particularly friendly, even thought there were several people working and not very many customers. You'd think you'd get the warm fuzzies in a place filled with stuffed animals, but instead the whole experience felt cold. The chocolates were okay. Definitely not the best quality, but not the worst. Would I choose them above gourmet chocolate shops (which, btw, ate at the same price point)? No. But would I go back for holiday decor and vibes? Probably, if the vibes were a little better.

Time stands still in this establishment, in a good way. Glad to see a place I came to in the early 80's as a child is still around. Many a caramel or candied apple in October were bought. Other times of the year chocolate covered pretzels will satisfy that sweet and salty urge.
