Aux Vieux Arceaux - Mercuer

We booked the weekend of May 1st, arrived in front of the gate, the hotel had suffered damage but was not warned.

This restaurant is located on a very nice location and has beautiful views from the tables. It serves French cuisine and has some Michelin signs and such, which led me to have high expectations of the food. But we found the food a little bit disappointing. Especially the fish souffle which I had for main course was quite dry and bland. The lemon dessert was pretty good. It was also very quiet in the restaurant and the only other visitors went outside to smoke right outside the window by our table, which I found a little bit odd to be allowed by the waiter. All in all it was OK. We were here in april, I guess the restaurant is probably more lively in a less quiet season.

Super 3-day stay: excellent meals, neat and our tastes. Super clean hotel, spacious and very comfortable rooms. We'll be back!

From the South Ardèche we discovered a beautiful address. A place like we would like to meet more often, very good reception.Benoit Court and a very friendly chef, and very good cook with an excellent calf ris, frog thighs really top, I also loved my dessert, the Mont-blanc that I highly recommend. The service was also very well.If you are visiting Vals Les Bains and you are looking for a good address to sleep and lunch or dinner do not hesitate.
