This was my first time ordering from here. I am sad the food wasn’t as good as I was anticipating. The mac n cheese had a weird flavor that I did not like. The wings were dried out and overcooked and the cornbread was the size of a quarter for $1.50 with not much flavor. I had such high hopes for this place. Service: Take out Meal type: Lunch

I love this place. The service was excellent and the food was out of this world. I got the whiting with grits and Mac and cheese. It was love at first taste, especially the Mac and cheese. It is a must have. Would definitely come back. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

Tonight I thought why not some American soul food . I called at 6:50 they close at 8pm from what the website says. I put my order in. I drove 40 minutes for my family’s dinner,Just for me to arrive and the girl in the front says that they didn’t get any calls on orders .They also refused to make us anything . Truly disappointed , I used to brag about this place , wont be recommending this place or eating here anymore . Service was a disgrace.

09/10/23 Wish I could give them a minus -5 stars for service a Minus -8 Stars for competence for that matter..This was a Uber order the Total was $100.02…The Order was made a few minutes after 6pm..We were Told our Food would be here between 7:30-7:45pm on the Uber site…Our Uber delivery person called us at 7:40pm claiming to be at the restaurant was told they couldn’t fulfill our order because they didn’t have anything we order? Which would’ve been fine if it wasn’t almost 2 hours since we made the original order..Then to add insult to injury, When we called the restaurant to find out what happened..instead of getting an “I’m so sorry for the inconvenience” we got welllll What do you want me to do?..we DON’T have No more Food!! Lol.. From the bobble head that answered the phone..Sounds Like this place is a Big joke masquerading as a restaurant.. (U close at 8pm, U get an $100 order at 6pm can’t figure out in under a hour that U don’t have enough food to fulfill said order? Clearly they employee Geniuses here!! this is why people “Usually Us” don’t choose small local eats anymore..Sorry to say but especially in Meriden..N-E-V-E-R Again!! Wish I would’ve read the reviews on this place 1st, we wouldn’t have even bothered ??‍
