We stopped by by chance and were made to feel at home. The owner made an effort with a few words of French to explain her dishes to us. We enjoyed simply cooked local dishes. Quiet atmosphere far from the crowds but close to the center. Mother and daughter take great care! Even if the French sometimes give them problems we were welcomed “like at home”!!!! I had dinner in this place (located just behind the beautiful Basilica of Santa Croce) with my family and our little dog. It was like entering the kitchen of a Lecce family. The owners (mother and daughter) are very kind, friendly and approachable. The dishes were delicious and plentiful. We took (and I absolutely recommend): bruschetta with cherry tomatoes and aubergines in oil (usually I don't like aubergines but these... EXCELLENT); platter with Salento specialties (lasagna, parmigiana and potato focaccia stuffed with ham and cheese); fresh pasta from Lecce (orecchiette with tomato sauce with meatball and sprinkled with pecorino cheese). The wine was also very good. Highly recommended!!
