Jj Madisons All American Grill - Mesa

Watching the Kansas City Chiefs games here is always a great experience. I seem to meet a new family almost every other week. On this particular day, I connected with another wonderful family and had a fantastic time with them. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. The drinks were also amazing, and of course, we share our passion for football. The customer service here is exceptional. It truly doesn’t get any better than JJ Madison.

I visit this restaurant with my aunt and uncle whenever I'm in town, and I'm consistently impressed. The service is excellent, with friendly staff who treat you like family (the good kind!). The food is always fantastic; I especially love their Reuben and French dip sandwiches. They also offer a great selection of beers and a full bar menu. The restaurant has wheelchair-accessible tables and typically provides ample parking. My visits have been during midweek lunches, so I’m aware that it can get busy on weekends and in the evenings, which is a testament to how great this restaurant/bar is!

We decided to go ahead and order anyway. We started with nachos and mozzarella sticks. The nachos came with burnt chips, and the cheese was cold—completely inedible. To make matters worse, they served them to us despite knowing how bad they were. The mozzarella sticks were also disappointing, cold, and served with a marinara sauce that tasted like plain tomatoes. I've never sent food back before, but I felt I had no choice this time. The waitress was unhelpful and admitted they were out of proper chips and had to serve those burnt ones instead, which made me wonder why they didn’t just refuse to serve them at all. When I asked if I could order something else, her response wasn’t the polite "Of course, I'm so sorry about that" but rather a curt "Well, what do you want?" in a tone that made it clear I better choose something she felt was acceptable. I was genuinely shocked by her attitude. Honestly, had my son not already placed an order, we would have left. I noticed she was short with another table as well, and there seemed to be issues with their food too. The service was just unacceptable. When we asked where the game would be shown on their screens, they didn’t have a clear answer, and when we inquired about seating, the response was vague. We even requested closed captioning, but that was turned down as well. They did eventually turn up the volume, which was nice, but in such a loud restaurant, it didn’t really help. All I could think was how grateful I was that it was just preseason and only the two of us, rather than bringing our whole family. My son had reservations about dining there and wanted to go to our usual spot, but I had convinced him to try this place based on my previous experience. What a letdown.

This place is always lively, but we usually manage to find a spot at the bar. They have a good selection of beers on tap, as well as bottles and cans. The food menu is a step above your usual bar fare. There are plenty of TVs for watching events, and they offer off-track betting if that interests you. They also host trivia, bingo, and occasionally karaoke. It’s definitely one of our favorites.
