Rumbi Island Grill - Mesa

Not quite sure how the reviews are so good. The Chicken Tempura was just the basic Chinese style roasted chicken you find in a generic orange chicken dish from any Chinese restaurant, nothing tempura about it. The Teriyaki Noodles were just spaghetti with one from the box Teriyaki sauce that was too strong. And the island of Macaroni Salad was extremely bland. I wouldn't mind if the meal was like a sum of $5 or some dirt cheap, but for $15 I wouldn't recommend eating here. You need to restart the entire menu and make something Hawaiian. I'd rather go to Ono Hawaiian or literally to another place than here.

The food is hot and tasty is the only reason why they start 3 stars. I don't know why the lady on the front was so fast to pull me through as soon as I was in the register, even you were there 1 person behind me, but it wasn't cool. She talked about me, cut me off and I had to repeat the pages I wanted when she was rolling her eyes and snippy because she had assumed that I wanted a page I didn't want. I love Rumbies despite their steep prices, but the lady's work register this morning when I went at 11:00 didn't fit the friendly customer service I would recognize at this point. I didn't pay almost $16 to be treated like an inkovenice.

The Hawaiian Teriyaki sauce is by far the best feature of food, but the grilled chicken is sub par. It?s in small cubes taste not a fan must also be grilled and a little smoked and they would have something here if that was a factor. Also the Mac salad was good, but didn't let me think that I didn't need any paprika to eat at least once a week. I had much better, but good enough if you want to take the kids. Service was good, but this place wasn't enough to spend me my week after week.

Best sweet potato fries I've ever had. Better than other fries, sweet potatoes or not than I ever had. Absolutely addictive! I ordered them in the store and ate them. They came perfectly boiled, just the right balance of the delicacies on the outside, but soft and delicate on the inside, and perfectly seasoned with the right amount of saltiness. I just died and went to the French sky!

I stumbled upon this place while I was driving. I gave it a try and it did not disappoint. The blended flavors together all meshed well together. I will definitely add this restaurant to my favs!
