Ooh Wee Latrece Soul Food - Mesquite

First time trying Ohh Wee Latrese and I have to say I will be returning!! The customer service was wonderful! Latrese makes you feel right at home, along with the restaurant. I got the beef tips, greens and cabbage. SOOO GOOD!!

The pictures says all you need to know but I must rave on Ooh Wee Latrece Soul Food. I’m from Louisiana, new to Texas and I miss southern styled food! I had the Southern Oxtails plate with cabbage, candied yams and cornbread! Finger licking good, literally! Everything was cooked to perfection. Very rich flavorful. The oxtails were falling off the bone tender! Thank you for the exceptional customer service. I was extremely satisfied and will definitely be back!

I didn't get to eat there this time as they were preparing to feed the hungry for Thanksgiving. However, I truly enjoyed my conversation with LaTrece, the hardest working woman in the Mesquite restaurant world ?. I'm going back to enjoy her offerings as soon as I can.

Please do not get my rating wrong!!. The food is absolutely amazing!! The meatloaf is very delicious with the mac n cheese and collard greens. Highly recommend!!! My only complaint is every time I go there, they are always closed. I'm not sure what their REAL hours of operation are but it is VERY inconsistent especially on Google. I've called several times and nobody answered the phone or is at the shop. So I would call ahead before making the drive so you don't waste your time. Another complaint is they run out of food options very quickly so you may not get what you want.

I really liked Ooh Wee Latrece! I came in on rainy day right before Thanksgiving and everyone was so sweet and accommodating! Great options as far as food...all of my soul food favorites like collard greens, cabbage, black eyed peas, pork chops, fried chicken...ALL the good stuff. Do not leave without the Peach Cobbler!!Latrece is an absolute sweetheart and I met her brother also, his name escapes me but he was very nice as well : Latrece is very passionate about cooking and I could tell from her conversation that she loves working with her hands which is awesome...Now my mouth is watering....I'm on my way back! LOL
