Fate itself brought me into contact with the owner of this cafe, which is the heart of Svaneti. I will not describe the fatal circumstances under which we met, but in short, it was like this: an incident that ended in the police, where Nona was a translator, and then invited her to her café house to taste home cooking and recover mentally. This is Georgian hospitality, which did not allow my heart to close, despite the behavior of people in another cafe. Even when I was stressed, I was shocked by the taste of the dishes. Nona fed not only physically, but also mentally. I live in Svaneti and am writing a book about this land. I went around all the cafes here and boldly declare that only in this cafe is real Svan cuisine. Nona has become like a family member to me, but I am writing this review completely detached from emotions; this is truly the best cuisine here. I have been a guest and fan of her cuisine every day since then. I have specific food preferences I don’t like meat, any kind. And even here the menu has a full range of dishes for me. Divine tashmijabi, vegetable salad, khachapuri, compote(! , kubdari with mushrooms. If you are in Mestia, then this cafe is a must visit. No tourist group will take you here, break away from the group and eat here to experience the real taste of Georgian cuisine. Here you will feel like you have come to visit relatives whom you have not seen for a long time. Vegetarian options: Vegetable salads, khachapuri, tashmijabi, eggplants with nuts, kubdari with mushrooms can be asked to be made. You won't leave Nona hungry.
Once here, it’s like visiting your favorite aunt, who will feed you delicious homemade food, lovingly prepared for her nephews. My man rarely praises, here he said that it was not kubdari, but a work of art, and this is very expensive) The portions of both soup (we took kharcho and coarse) and kubdari (we ate classic and they made us mushroom) were very good ones. Vegetarian options: I don't eat meat and the hostess made kubdari with mushrooms, which was not on the menu. The menu also includes hearty mushroom soup and vegetable salad.
Great food including local specialities. Very tasty wine. Kubdidi and shkmeruli are beyond praise. We really enjoyed it. Special thanks to the owner of the establishment for her hospitality. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
