There was absolutely nothing that didn’t taste like a little slice of heaven. Every confection was scrumptious. And we didn’t break the bank! Everything is delicious and very reasonably priced.
I called once in February to order a cake a week in advance, that is on their website, only to be put on hold while I could hear everything going on in the background and could hear 2 coworkers carrying on a conversation with each other for 12 minutes. Only to be rudely told by one of the employees that I could not get that cake with no reason stated. I asked to speak with a manager and she took down my information. I had to call back and leave my name 3 more times before finally getting a call back 4 days later. The manager was going to make the cake happen but because days had gone by, there was no way the cake could have been made in time. I called back today, 6/16/2023 to order a Lemon Meringue Pie for Tuesday, 6/20/2023. Only to be told, that they only do these pies on the weekends. I asked, “so I can’t order the pie to be baked and picked up on Tuesday?” And the employee said no. I’m not sure what happened to this bakery but it’s really a shame to have called twice this year to order a cake and a pie that are both on their website (no matter the cost) and to just be told nope, sorry, can’t and won’t help you. We have over 20 employees and used to order all of our birthday cakes from here, but those days are over. I will never order from here again and you should consider ordering from here as well, considering you cannot get everything on their website and I guess they only make cakes on the weekends?? There are PLENTY more bakeries in the city that do want our business!
My husband and I LOVED our wedding cake from Gambino's Bakery!!! The cake tasted amazing and looked gorgeous! We had traditional almond cake with raspberry filling and vanilla buttercream on the outside. We received so many compliments on the flavor! We loved working with Gambino's to make our vision come to light and we would HIGHLY recommend this bakery to anyone looking for a wedding cake!!
Our first King’s Cake! Ordered through Goldbelly! From Gambino 's Bakery! This bakery has been a New Orleans landmark since 1949. Their King Cake recipes date back to the 1920s. So excited when the box was delivered! We had to decorate the King’s Cake with the traditional colors: yellow, green and purple. We enjoyed it! And found the the customary gold baby figure in the last piece of the cake! Tradition dictates that finding the baby in your cake symbolizes luck and prosperity, and the finder becomes the king or queen of the evening!
I bought a king cake from Walmart for my students; it brought nostalgic memories of getting a king cake from an uptown neighborhood Gambino’s in my youth. My students have been trying various king cakes each week since King’s Day. This was the first time they came back for seconds and commented on how good it was. I was most excited to find a brown baby inside and my students commented that there should be brown babies in the more king cakes. Thank you for making delicious cakes and bringing more diversity to our collection of king cake white babies.
