Showed up for 3pm late lunch on a Saturday and no problem for the kitchen or bar to serve us quickly and well. (You never know on that in-between time how it's going ti be). We ordered the special of the day which was pecan crusted speckled trout with lemon butter sauce and it was so fresh and delicious. Perfectly cooked and satisfying. Wish i had taken a pic. We ordered desserts and they were generous. Bread pudding was not too soft and sauce better than usual rum or brandy sauce. Good combo here. The peanut butter doberge cake slice was huge. A light PB flavor that was not strong, the ganache was dark and rich and sweet. I would come back here anytime for seafood to try other dishes. Definitely recommend this place. The prices were reasonable for the quality of the food. Outside seating available too.
Food is good and convenient in the neighborhood. Same people opened Pigeon Whale- Don't sleep on that one!
I really love this restaurant. I am from NO, but no longer live there. My family still does and so do many friends. When I go back I love the good food that I can get. Moving away I learn that really good food is not all fried. So many NO area restaurants serve mostly fried food. I appreciate when I can get good, quality, healthy meal with NO flair, impeccable service and atmosphere. My four friends and I all loved everything. There is a nice wine and beer selection and a great cocktail list. The Pimm's Cup is a perfect cocktail. The tuna cracker appetizer that we shared was delicious. The Gulf Fish was amazing. My friends also loved the Blackened Gulf Fish, Salmon Tacos and Shrimp dishes. The service was top notch from the hostess to our waiter and everyone else we had contact with. I wish I had pictures! Next time.
Great place! All their food is amazing! Raw oysters are the best appetizer.Their blackened fish is my favorite.
