I found it going to a book study with the older ladies at church book club. Brought my Dad and he brought my sister and she raved about the restaurant Dad found. I brought my senior in college and he loved it. Do not miss the bean salad, I sometimes just want to go there for it. I have had their quiche 2 times and was disappointed both times. Their specialty is sandwiches with great bread, cheeses, avocado, and many other. My son is a vegetarian and found lots of choices for sandwiches. Note both of their quiches had meat in them which puzzled us. You definitely can carry in a conversation here. They have white cloth table clothes that they change between customers. It is quaint.
Hidden gem in the Oakwood neighborhood just off downtown Raleigh. Friendly service, great food and a setting from yester-year! Loved it!
One of my favorite restaurants since attending Meredith College 1995-1999. Just as delicious today as it was back then. So many sandwich choices! My favorite is the cheddar square. Don't forget to try a homemade dessert! The warm seven layer bar is devine.
I ordered a sandwich which was priced at $11.95. The waitress said it came with a side and I could get soup. When they say it that way you assume it is included. It was a tiny cup of soup which was less than half a cup. I drank water. With tip my lunch ended up being almost $22.00. The cashier just said you pay extra for soup. My friend’s sandwich with that little bit of soup and dessert was almost $29.00. We will never return and will not recommend this place to anyone. It was a rip off.The waitress was very nice, but clearly didn’t tell us the soup would be extra. She said it came as a side with the sandwich.
Amazing food and friendly service. Such a great price, too. Will definitely be back often!
