Fat Edd's Roadhouse - Metropolis

I ordered the smash burger with bacon and no bun, along with a side of fries that reminded me of McDonald's. It was strange that they split the bill between the kitchen and wait staff. I paid for the food at the kitchen counter and was told that the wait staff would handle the drinks. This resulted in two separate bills, making it awkward to tip the waitress who only served my wife and I tea and water. My wife ended up getting the smash burger with slaw topping, and she gave me a bite which I really enjoyed. Despite the issue with the bill, I would give the experience a 5 and would definitely return if in the area again.

This restaurant has a lot of similarities to Fast Eddie's in Alton, IL. It's great overall, but it lacks live bands. They could start having them in the evenings. Next time I'm driving down I-24, I'll definitely be making a pit stop here.

The food was delicious and served hot at this restaurant. The prices were fair and all items on the menu were Ala carte, including options for kids. Customers place their orders and pay at the counter, then wait for their number to be called to pick up their food. However, drinks are ordered separately at the table and paid for separately, which was the only aspect of the experience that the reviewer did not like.

We ate here two nights in a row because we liked it so much. Fish platter was excellent. Great atmosphere, good signature drinks all at very reasonable prices!

Great atmosphere. Really good food. And very reasonable. It's was a Sunday noon crowd. When we got in line they were yelling for order number 15. In less than an hour we were done and leaving. They were yelling out for number 87 to pick up their food!!! Super service! Enjoyed our meal.
