We stayed in the hotel and stayed there half board. eating was diverse and always very good. the half board menu is a good value if they are not a Fussy eater. we had suppe (I am in the regular not a big fan, but that was good. after a day wander in the surrounding mountains,) starter, pornstar, cheese and dessert. it also came with a pitcher of local wine. it was not bad, but we preferred to pay extra to get some good weeping that they have on their lists, the owners and the waiters were always very friendly and helpful and since it is a place where people tend to stay for a few days, they begin to talk to other people and feel at home.
Wonderful dining room, with flowers and linen, great menu. Service a little slow, but the restaurant was busy most nights. Food beautifully served, friendly staff.
Wonderful evening meal and great service. ox cheeks were delicious and dessert by poached birne with ice etc was sensational. great atmosphere and beautiful wine. would highly recommend. oh and only 23€ for 2 courses. so good.
We used Hotel Mont Aigoual as centre for day trip hikes in the surrounding mountains and causses, and it is a real gem, truly living up to being the perfect classic French country hotel. Rooms are good and adequate, but the real value lies in...the caring, kind and charmingly firm management of Madame Stella Robert and the restaurant. From arrival to departure we were greeted and treated as highly appreciated guests. Strongly recommend to stay with half board as the included 5 course dinner is of excellent value, cooked by chef Daniel Lagrange and his team. This was our third visit over 10 years, and our experiences was even better than last time.
