Captains Tavern Seafood Market - Miami

I have been going to captains tavern for over 20 plus years, at least twice a week. I have always been happy with quality, freshness and service. Today that changed ...I asked for my fish to be skinned, he took off the skin and a big portion of the fish. The fish was butchered and I watch a big piece of fish go in the garbage with the skin. It?s not only that I paid for it, but what a waste. If only Ray can teach the new employees how to take off the skin properly. Very disappointed

Today is Saturday January 30th. This was my first time at Tavern seafood. I found out about this place from a publix employee. I have to say I was impressed. I went there looking for lump crabmeat. They didn't have the exact brand I wanted but the store employee showed me something very closed to what I was looking for. The employee was very professional and seemed knowledgeable about what I was looking for. I would recommend this place if you're looking for fresh seafood.

Wow, what a great find! We not only got some incredible Stone Crabs and tasty Black Grouper, but the manager, Ray, also mentioned that they have a fantastic selection of wines available for takeout. As a wine shop owner in Delaware, I was able to find some amazing bottles at great prices. I'm happy we still have another week and a half here to go back before heading back up North. And PS... the Stone Crab sauce is even better than Joe's!

Only gets 3 stars because the staff was great but the food was not. I ordered the special grilled octopus arm and it was very obvious that it was their way of trying to get rid of old food. It tasted like it was in a freezer for years ????. Go down the street to the Original Crab House instead .

There aren't a lot of choices, but it's nice to see some local seafood on the menu.
