Itamae - Miami

My partner and I had a truly amazing experience at this restaurant. The food was outstanding, and we really appreciated the attentive service. Our waiter, Manny, guided us through the menu and made excellent recommendations based on our preferences. We arrived right at 5 PM when they opened, and the staff provided us with very personal and intimate attention. Manny took what could have been a daunting experience and turned it into something comfortable and relaxing. While the prices were on the higher side, it was completely justified by the quality of each dish, which was prepared with evident love and care. This is a meal that I will remember for a long time. They never pressured us to write a review, but I felt compelled to share our wonderful experience.

Each dish on their thoughtfully designed menu amazed us, creating one of those rare moments where you're tempted to order everything on the menu. From the vibrant ceviches to the crisp cucumber salad, each plate was a burst of unique flavors. However, the highlight of the meal was undoubtedly their Nigiri selection. We sampled every variety available, and each bite took us into a blissful frenzy, showcasing the exceptional skill and creativity that went into each piece. To conclude this remarkable feast, we indulged in the exquisite mango sorbet dessert, served on a bed of rich cream. It was the perfect finale to a truly outstanding meal. This restaurant doesn’t just serve food; it creates an experience that I would confidently say is deserving of a Michelin star. While some might be deterred by the lack of traditional liquor options, the extensive selection of sake and wine more than makes up for it, ensuring that every discerning drinker finds something they enjoy. I’m currently dining at a Nikkei restaurant that is NOT Itamae, and it’s making me wish I were at Itamae instead. That place genuinely offers one of the best meals I’ve ever experienced. Don’t bother looking at the menu; just ask them to bring you their recommendations. Everything has been outstanding.

Ok, what can I say about Itamae that has not been said already? Run, I repeat, run do not walk to get a table here. Would I invent a new category of stars just based on this restaurant? Yes. Would I take all other reviews I've ever written down a star to impart just how FIVE stars this place is. Probably. It was so good that we came here TWICE for lunch during our 3 day trip to Miami. Everything from the fish, to the sauces, to the beautifully, meticulously prepared vegetables was beyond words. You can't skip dessert it would be criminal. And of course, the service every single person in the restaurant was so kind and welcoming. Chef Nando you and your team truly have made something remarkable It is truly an *honor* to have eaten here.

Canceled our Rez and Steered us to their other Restaurant with a b.s. story that their restaurant was closing due to rain. There was no rain and they steered us to their other restaurant which we decided to do because it was Saturday night and we didn’t have a reservation without. Our 2 daughters were expecting sushi and were very disappointed with the other restaurant which was Cevice only. Seems the restaurant overbooked and wanted their other place to be just as busy. Messed up our plans to enjoy the design district and put us in midtown instead. Very weak! But that’s what they did. Treated us like s tourists
