I did not experience the promised bursting with taste color to table taste difference. I was disappointed that my chicken stable was just a hard flattened chest covered with a gruesome and tasteless Demi-Glaze! the root veggie along with that was a blah brocollini. I then requested some other sweets like carrots and brussels sprouts, but I didn't want them cooked with confit/fat so they just brought me steamed vegetables that were very tasteless. I have made steamed sweet home that had so much more taste than this. This evening we were practically the only ones fed to this site, which has a fairly large capacity. I could think about giving them time to get their act together and maybe get a new cook with better recipes along with a new farm and then back on a later date. it is right in my neighborhood, so it would be a shame if this place cannot improve.
The restaurant was a nice experience. The food was nothing special but it was worth the money. The reason I would not go again is I’m a stickler for service. The server we had was sick, which is not a problem, but I believe that affected her service and one experience with bad service anywhere and I’m done. It took a good 5 minutes for someone to introduce themselves as our server. She took our order and she never passed by again. The food was delivered by a young man. We had to flag someone down for more water twice. She finally came along to as how things were and at that point everyone else got us what we had asked for. After that some time had passed and we were obviously done with our food, but we didn’t see our server. We asked a woman whom we believe to be the manager for our check. That’s when the waiter finally came back. Again, it was obvious she had a cold or similar, and was not doing well, but if that’s the case send someone to help you still serve your guests as full capacity.
Confusion about Miami Spice menu ... server did not bring wine list or drink menu, we had to ask and then wait quite a bit for our drinks ... food came and not cooked as described on the menu ... 15 minute wait for dessert to come ... chocolate brownie-like dessert was hard ... it was like the regular chef was out for the evening... and the server didn’t help the cause. Won’t be back.
The food has always been excellent but this time it was maybe mediocre. The only fish dish was not fresh fish. The calamari seemed store bought frozen rings and then deep fried. The desert was similar to a restaurant on par with Denny’s.
The published Miami spice menu, which I was really looking forward to having was not available. The rest of the menu didn’t appeal to me as much.
