The Glass House - Mid Sussex

Excellent food and service, wonderful location, good value.

The restaurant is located in stunning gardens and the staff were courteous, but the service was disappointingly slow. We had to remind staff about our drinks, flag someone down to order coffee, and request the bill. We even had to clear our own dessert plates from the table as no one came to collect them. The food was tasty, but I was hoping for a wider selection of vegetables with my roast. Adding a 12% service charge to the bill without discretion felt pushy and disrespectful. It seemed as though they were banking on customers not speaking up to have it removed. I don't mind paying for good service, but it was lacking on this occasion. The restaurant could definitely benefit from hiring more staff to improve the overall experience.

Had a wonderful Mothers Day roast dinner in the Glass House Restaurant, cannot fault, food was great, decent size portions and all fresh, staff were friendly and attentive, yet not overbearing and the restaurant itself was so lovely and decorated especially for Mother’s Day. Our first visit but will definitely be back

Very good. Beautiful place to eat. The afternoon tea was lovely and had far to much to eat and needed a 'doggybag '. However on a Sunday roast was a bit disappointed as was asked how we liked the beef and we said rare, it came out well done. Bit pointless asking. Would still recommend though.

Food was excellent and the ambience was lovely. The staff were very professional and catered for every need. I had called the reception earlier in the day to request a dessert with special message to be written on it… and it was done perfectly. So thankyou all for that! Also couldn’t get over how good the value for money was here
