Good coffee. Just two improvements needed a few cushions for the hard chairs, and could try to open on more than 2 days a week
A warm, friendly welcome greets you at The Mustard Seed Café. Tasty light snacks and scrumptious home made cakes at very reasonable prices, await those fortunate enough to have found this cosy place. Well done to all the kitchen staff, especially in this hot weather, the selection may be small but the slice of cake I had was enormous!
Really glad the Mustard Seed has reopened there is a small menu but everything served is reasonably priced and just what you want in a community cafe. We have visited a few times now and each time the food has been delicious and very quick. The hot food is cooked to demand and you can make special requests. The fresh cakes are also stand out. Staff very happy to help. Will be returning!
Within the National Christian Outreach Centre, I doubt if you would find this excellent cafe unless you already knew it was there or were looking for the Centre, which we were. Uplifting to visit for the soul, you can also nourish the body. The Centre has some very hard to get books, cds and dvds, and the cafe has an excellent menu for snacks and hot meals and boasts a large free car park. I chose lentil soup, from the choice of home-made soups and was rewarded with a huge bowl of good, 'stick to your ribs ' Scottish soup with a herb scone and an excellent toasted sandwich, from a good selection of sandwiches, toasties and paninis. Rest of the family opted for well cooked fish, chips and peas. There was also well cooked and tasty. There was also a choice of daily specials. I might have normally chosen the haggis, neeps and tatties, had it not been such a hot day. There was also a good choice of cakes. The cafe was increasingly busy as lunchtime service got into full swing. It looked as if many of the diners were probably both locals and regulars who made use of this well priced and delightful venue. There were a number of free uplifting christian books at the checkout.
I went to the Mustard seed with my wife, 2 boys and pops. We all had great meals, the service was exceptional and the ladies couldn’t have been more friendly. Well worth a visit and very reasonably priced. Well done to all the volunteers. I will definitely be back.
