We reached Bar du Soleil, and it was a totally worthwhile experience. And the experience was made all the way better by our server Justine. I have visited many many restaurants in my life, but I have never seen anyone as pleasant and helpful as Justine. She understood our position and immediately offered us a table, she understood that we would have problems with a French menu, so she came over 2-3 times to offer help, then she very very patiently made recommendations in terms of epinard and scampi salad, croquettes and a hawaian chicken salad, and all of this with a big smile on her face all the time. Thanks Justine for a lovely experience, and the food was also really good. Must visit this place of you get a chance....
For the fairly high priced plate of home made shrimp croquettes €20 for 2), we got 2 croquettes with a burned taste and a jiggly filling with few shrimps, 2 slices of old dried out) bread and some fried parsley not even a small fresh salad on the side). The waiter was very friendly, but that doesn 't make up for the food.
We were with 5 people. Four of us go inside while 1 stays behind to park the car. He arrived approx. 10 minutes after. The four of us had been allowed to order an icecream and pancakes and drinks. The fifth person joined us, and was not able to order anything anymore because they decides to 'close up between 16 and 17 o 'clock because the staff couldn 't handle the amount of customers. So our poor 5th person had to sit there at our table watching the rest of us have food and drinks. They wouldn 't even bring him a simple coffee any more. The staff was rude about it as well. I understand closing if you can 't handle the amount of ppl, and more keep arriving, but AT LEAST serve the guests that are already sitting down in your establishment. If you can 't handle the amount of customers, hire more people or remove some tables and seats, but closing down for an hour between 16 and 17 o 'clock because 'the staff needs a rest ' is not the right way to do it. Food was okay otherwise.
A bit pricey for the quality. I assume it's on parr with area restaurants. The croquettes were super mediocre for a high price. The best thing about the place is the service. They were busy so not too attentive but very helpful and friendly. I really liked the old mismatched silverware.
Very friendly staff, delicious food, low prices, fast service. I recommend with confidence!
