Contribuisci feedbackDining at Abuelo's with Bianca M. is always a delightful experience. I typically go for the chicken with squash and zucchini, but tonight I opted for the Australian Sea "Blast" instead. I'm so glad I made that choice! The Blue Moon on draft enhances the food even more—it's truly delicious! Cheers!
The portion sizes were just right, and the flavors were abundant. The lively music playing in the background was reminiscent of Selena's style, adding to the atmosphere. However, I must mention that the food doesn't come off as authentically Mexican to me. I ordered steak fajita tacos, but the waiter simply referred to them as "steak tacos." While they were tasty, I was expecting fajitas to come with vegetables, and this wasn’t the case—it just didn’t meet my expectations. I’m not saying you shouldn’t give it a try; I would certainly return, but I’d approach it with different expectations. As you can see, I didn’t leave much on my plate!
Fantastic restaurant! The combo fajitas were delicious, and the beer was cold, though slightly flat. The service was excellent; the waitress was quick and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends.
Heard good things, so was excited. Being from the Valley, I?m always looking for Mexican food that reminds me of home. When you walk in, you?re not greeted by either of the hostess. You just casually wait at the front til they get off their phones and askyou how many. Got seated at a table for four, with one of the legs being bent. Leaned to one side, and I had to use their sugarpackets to stabilize it. Our waitress was great, besides instantly asking if we were ready to order dinner. We let her know wewanted to order drinks first, and survey the menu. She came back often, and was timely. Solid waitress. The food is lackluster, and bland. I assume to cater to all, you leave the spices out and give the slight taste. Out of the three salsas, none hadheat. We ordered the large guac, and it came as a few scoops of purée guacamole with some tomato?s cut up on top. Same textureas you?d imagine frosting being squeezed from a bag. Fajitas for two, was our order for dinner. They allow you to choose 4options. We opted for double meat and double veggies. We got what one would assume would be for one on the beef fajitas, andstir fry veggies soaked in butter. They also gave us a small side of beans and rice (the same amount you?d get elsewhere forone) to share, and our waitress confirmed the individual plates have even less. The beef fajitas had no spices, and insteadwere grilled like a regular steak. You?d taste the same at Outback. I wouldn?t recommend coming here for Tex-Mex nor Mexicanfood. Though this could be a good place to bring kids, as everything was plain.
It was good for tex mex style food. But there were just a few things that hesitate to give it a 5 star. First, our guacamole was like 50% lettuce, which is unusual. Next the service was a bit slow. I had to get up to find my waitor to ask for morewater. Overall the place is inviting and clean. The food is decent, but with the abundance of Mexican places around Midland,I'd try other places first before going back.
