I tried to stay positive about my experience, so I made my way to the stand to check out the donuts on display. However, when I saw two small bugs on the glazed donuts, I decided to leave. I would not recommend this place at all. 0/10.
The kolaches and donuts here are generous in size, and the service is fantastic and friendly. This charming little business in Montrose is definitely worth supporting, especially with such a sweet owner. The prices are very reasonable, making it an affordable spot to visit. What more can I say? This place hits all the right notes for me. I'm so glad they are still open despite the pandemic, and I want to support them!
The woman at the front was very friendly. I enjoyed their breakfast sandwich, but the breakfast tacos were disappointing—the tortilla was tough and nothing remarkable. The donuts were also quite good.
Literally the worst experience at a local donut shop in the Greater Houston area. This was at 9am last Friday. The donuts felt like they were day olds. Very dry and unappetizing. Then the kolaches... I think she forgot them in the microwave because they came out blazing hot. By the time they cooled enough to be edible, they were tough/rubbery. I remembered liking this place from when I used to live in the neighborhood, but man did they screw this up. I'll pass them and proceed to Christie's Donuts from now on or hit up the bakery next door instead.
Melt in your mouth doughnuts. Delightful. And the prices are so reasonable. This place is a gem and I absolutely recommend! Go in hungry and enjoy!!
