Ginos Reforma - Miguel Hidalgo

We were initially attracted to the 3 course meal for 135 pesos sign and decided to check it out. We were pleasantly surprised by the selection and quality of the food and the excellent service. I have never eaten a 3 course meal for $7.00 dollars in my life. I started out with a salad, a great grilled fish meal and a wonderful flan for dessert. My friends and I also shared a bottle of wine. I will definitely be going back on my next trip to Mexico.

I went on a late Saturday night looking for some pizza. The staff were very nice, and it didn't take long for the pizza to be ready. Because I am a pizza expert (New York Pizza), I'm giving them 4 instead of 5 stars. The service however, was a 5.

Food was well prepared abd tasty. I had the zucchini soup with garlic croutons. Delicious. The others had pasta with meat sauce and the fish, both were good. Nice atmosphere, not too loud, servers were very attentive.

I've been to several Gino's in Mexico city (the newest one just opened along the Paseo de la Reforma, replacing a French restaurant and patisserie that did not have much luck), and what I like of this oplace is that is serves Italian-like dishes without the arrogance of defining itself as an Authentic Italian Cuisine provider (which is something many other restaurants do in Mexico while offering food that has just as much to do with Italian food as a Sushi bar). Gino's is a nice place where you can have breakfast, lunch or dinner in a nice atmosphere and for reasonable prices. Also the pastries and desserts are not bas at all!

The service is very good. Manager is a very gently person and so polite with the customers. Food is good overall but always something happens at least with me. Empanadas hot outside, freeze inside, another thing is the menu, it pasts more than 4 months and it is the same, no variation at all. Error in the check. If they could fix that kind of things, the place would be perfect. Even so, I recomended it if you need something good, nice place with a reasonable prices.
