We first visited Flynn's based on a recommendation and have returned multiple times whenever we are in the area. The fish is exceptional, the service is fast and friendly, and the portion sizes are generous.
While the exterior may not be impressive, this restaurant serves up a delicious batch of fish and chips. We ordered the cod and thoroughly enjoyed it - perfectly cooked. Despite not being fans of coleslaw, we found theirs to be surprisingly tasty. The prices are not exceptionally cheap, but the quality of the food is definitely worth it.
We were pretty disappointed with our meal here. We had the equivalent of the captain's platter and the seafood portions were somewhat chintzy. The French fries, in particular, were not great and seem to have been cooked in stale oil. The atmosphere, with tables almost on top of each other, was a cut below most McDonalds. There is seating outside but it was hot and we opted to eat inside. The noise level would rival many airports. In fairness, a lady in our group said she enjoyed what she had. Lord, I envy her.
Yummy Fish & Chips. Fresh potatoes, generous serving, crispy, would have liked them cut thicker. Lots of seafood options. Friendly counter hostess. Several eat-in tables, covered picnic tables outside for warm weather overflow crowd. Not quite cheap eats due to rising costs of fish & seafood. Not quite fast food, but better than local chain burger joints. A great option if you want the change.
