Garrison House Cafe - Millport

This is one of the few places on the island where I tried cake or ice cream, and I decided to get a vegan brownie. It was the only option available to me, but it was very delicious. If this place was in a city, I might have given it a lower score for the limited options. However, in Ayrshire, we are usually happy to find vegan options, and for a small place like Millport, it is a great find.

There were four vegan options available at the restaurant, although one of them was sold out. However, I really enjoyed the lentil soup, and my daughter loved the vegan burger. It was great to have vegan options in a small place like Millport.

The vegan burger was enjoyable, but the coleslaw that came with it was not vegan. The vegetarian option on the kids menu was a good deal. There was only one vegan cake choice. Plastic straws were given with the kids' smoothies.

The food is delicious and this is the only restaurant in Millport that is always open. The prices are reasonable and you don't feel like you are being overcharged.

I stayed at Garrison House for three nights and found it to be centrally located and convenient for everything. The surroundings were beautifully maintained and charming.
