We could have chosen any table out on the balcony as we were there at 12 noon however due to a slight wind chill we chose a table inside with a view of the Harbour Bridge. We ordered our entree, Salt and Pepper Squid which we shared and a bottle of wine. We waited an hour before we ordered our mains and that was our choice. We had Fillet Mingion which was delisious and served with mash. Perhaps a little more variety with the green vegetables however one could have cut the steak with a butter knife. We again share a desert which was sticky date pudding and it was ample for the two of us. The staff were very friendly and professional. We spent three hours at our table and were never hurried before we departed back to Milsons Point station. I would reccommend a visit here even if another reviewer ( member of the club ) was critical. I say be happy with what you have there and don't take it for granted.
This is the Kirribilli club dining room. Virtually an upmarket Services club which provides Better than the average club meals and service in my opinion. The views are astounding overlooking a beautiful garden ( Wendy Whitley's creation) the bridge, and the harbour west of the bridge. The open balcony has the best views but are reasonable from other locations. Accommodation is comfortable but the conversation noise can get a bit loud at times. The drinks are not as cheap as other clubs. The menu is extensive and has something for everybody but needs to be varied a bit more often for regular diners. Orders are lodged at the dining room desk and delivered to your table all in reasonable to good time. Quantity and quality are better than average. Prices are reasonable for what is served. There is a coffee shop serving a selection of hot pies etc and an excellent selection of cakes etc if you just want coffee and a snack. It's well patronised by senior citizens and provides a pleasant atmosphere. Also a great place to take overseas visitors for a pleasant experience.
Had lunch here after visiting Wendy Whitely's garden. One of our friends joined the club for $10 per year, which meant we could visit. Our meals were well presented and served promptly, desipite the restaurant being quite busy. This would be a very good place to take visitors - for the view alone.
Watergrill is located within the Kirribilli Club and has a lovely view of Sydney Harbour. Unfortunately the food is average. We are members of the club and have eaten in the restaurant a number of times - each time in anticipation that the cooking has improved and each time we are disappointed. Everything is overcooked and rather tasteless and why they cannot dress the Rocket is beyond me! A pile of undressed Rocket on the side of the plate is very unappetising! We acknowledge that we are eating at a RSL Club, but $29 plus for an overcooked main is having a laugh!
My family celebrated my Birthday here, and lunch was outstanding. Service was very friendly and meals were exceptional. I ordered the barramundi which was delicious. Fabulous restaurant with exquisite views to Sydney Harbour over Lavender Bay
