Contribuisci feedbackIf you're considering spending thousands to have a wedding here, do yourself a favor DON'T. From April to October of this past year we dealt with 4 different event managers with little to no communication regarding the change in staff and how to contact the new person in charge with each change of hands. We went weeks without hearing back from event staff about our wedding celebration. Imagine not being able to communicate or contact the venue that you're paying thousands of dollars to have a celebration at. When we did get the person who would be in charge of our event it wasn't much better. She messed up communicating one of the passed apps when we told her what substitute we wanted for an app they ran out of she gave us something completely different even though we told her what we wanted. She misplaced an $8,000 check and asked us for final payment days after the wedding when we personally handed the check to her the night before our event. She never communicated with the front desk that our whole party would be staying at every room in the inn so when our families came and one of them had a child they told them that they didn't allow children at the inn usually (even though our family booked the entire place! AND the charged every party that rented a room an additional tax fee even though the spreadsheet they sent us to book rooms had rates including tax (luckily they did refund everyone for the additional charge but that was another thing we had to deal with the day of the event while we were trying to do everything else. . Also, my husband and I were managing the vendors the night of the party. When the cigar roller we had and the tattoo artist we had came we had to tell them where to go and what not, she was not on top of it at all. The level of disorganization and miscommunication was not something that couples getting married should have to think about during or leading up to their big day. The venue was beautiful the service was not.
Our time at Buttermilk was very relaxing enjoyable. The goal was to go unwind that was exactly what we did! All the staff was friendly and helpful when needed. Chris Camille (GM) were friendly very accommodating during check in ensured we got settled in promptly. We scheduled massages prior to arrival, so I was very happy when I got the chance to meet Betsy finally after her attentive helpful way with setting myself my partner up for her special bday spa day over the phone. We both enjoyed our various massages from our masseuses left relaxed even a bit more educated on parts of our bodies and stress points. We had reservations for dinner at Henry?s, which overall was great with food drinks. It did get a bit busy our server seemed a bit overwhelmed. But with team work from Brandon stepping in assisting, the night was still successful for my partners birthday. We do plan to return, because we enjoyed our experience so much.
Our stay at Buttermilk falls inn was absolutely perfect. We stayed in the main inn- our room was beautifully decorated with antiques, very clean, and the bed was comfortable. We had dinner at Henry?s- the food was good and service was helpful. The best part of the stay was the property- we saw llamas, pigs, chickens, goats, peacocks, ducks, swans, and geese. It was magical! The property is in fantastic condition- with lush landscaping and breathtaking views of the hudson. I can?t wait to come back during leaf peeping season to see the colors. Breakfast is complimentary and served daily in the inn. They had a few choices of sweet and savory breakfast options (seems to change daily) and a lot of the food is grown in their own garden. Our stay was absolutely magical and I can?t recommend it enough!
From start to finish the staff was great. The location of the hotel is beautiful. Set on the Hudson River with a beautiful view of the greenery from the porch where you can have breakfast and lunch. Breakfast was included with our stay which was very nice. The complimentary breakfast was incredible. Different menu every day with the chef was definitely on top of her game. They did have coffee available throughout the day with light snacks that were also complimentary. The property itself was well maintained. Lots of trees. There was some apple trees that you can look at. A lot of ducks in the ponds. Unfortunately, like everything else, the water levels are low because of the current drought situation. All of the animals they have pigs, alpacas, goats, chickens are all animals that they rescued. We did speak to one of the animal keepers and they were very well informed and told us some of the history of how they got the animals. The front desk staff was very attentive, did meet and exceed our needs. Our room could use a little work. We stayed in one of the lofts. The shower definitely could use some work. The tile is definitely stained along the wall. The room itself was cozy. Air conditioner worked well. The refrigerator did make some noise but that did not affect our stay. The only suggestion we had there should be a second lock on the door for more protection. Yes, you are in the woods but with the current state of what goes on in this world you never know. They also have a gym on location with we did not use but the equipment seemed modern. We did eat the restaurant on the property. The service was five-star and was the food. We did enjoy our time with our puppy. She was allowed to accompany us to breakfast on the outside patio and to dinner on the outside balcony which was a very nice touch. One of the main reasons we picked this property. Located in a great spot close to wineries other attractions. We would definitely give them another try
I would advise not working here, or planning an event as the events team is constantly firing it's staff at will; including event coordinators. Toxic work environment to the fullest extent. Shady, shady stuff. It's a shame how people can make such a beautiful place so ugly. Most of the staff was fantastic though and very nice. I hope things get better there and they get new management. Perhaps a nice person with compassion.
