The menu offers a good variety of options, and the homemade cakes for sale are especially delightful. The staff, a mix of able-bodied and less able-bodied individuals, are always cheerful, enthusiastic, and well-supported by their colleagues. The establishment is clean, bright, and exudes a positive atmosphere, making dining there a pleasant experience.
I live close by and decided to grab a takeout sandwich and cake for two. The tuna mayo baguette and cheese and tomato sandwich were made quickly, generously filled with top quality ingredients, and tasted delicious. The homemade cakes were excellent, with sizable portions. We tried the Victoria sponge and coffee cake and loved both. The only downside was the total cost of £13 for just the food, which seemed a bit pricey. It was heartwarming to see adults with learning disabilities taking on most of the responsibilities at the restaurant.
Just walking into Macintyre Great Holm coffee shop gave me a good feeling. Clean, bright with cheery chairs, tables and comfy settees. The chicken salad was fresh, attractive and delicious. Excellent quality, moist chicken with plenty of freshly prepared vibrant salad. The double espresso was so good I had another. I am off sugar so wasn’t going to try the beautiful selection of cakes, but enjoyed window shopping Great atmosphere and nothing too much trouble. Well worth supporting!
Describing this restaurant as a coffee shop doesn't do justice to the variety of hot food, baguettes, sandwiches, and delicious cakes on offer here. Let's not forget the amazing bread pudding! The staff, both able-bodied and differently abled, contribute to the unique charm of this place. It's truly special to be served by individuals with different abilities, yet it all feels completely natural. The clean and bright surroundings create a welcoming atmosphere, and every meal I've had there has been top-notch in terms of taste and quality, all at a very reasonable price. It's definitely a hidden gem worth trying.
As we had workmen in I popped up the road to our excellnet lcola coffee shop. Lovely friendly service. Tasty, hot and well filled Cornish pasty, served with salad and homemade coleslaw. Decent coffee. Cost just £3.95.
