Centro Cafe - Milwaukee

I really did not enjoy this place. The service from the front staff to the waiters were very unusual and their mannerisms made us uncomfortable. The hostess didn't acknowledge us when we walked in and struggled to find our reservations. The waitress took out orders and then never checked back in until we had completely finished our meals. Water was never refilled despite our cups being empty for half the meal. The food was also very underwhelming and left us unsatisfied. The patio area was also not good, it was enclosed with little airflow.

I started coming here years ago and loved it. However, it’s been inconsistent lately. I came here for my birthday (4/12) and received some of the worst service. We rarely saw her and she consistently forgot our drinks, left water empty, and didn’t check in. The restaurant is quite small and quaint; I totally understand that things can still get busy but communication is key in that case! Coming from someone who worked in the service industry for quite some time. The gnocci was just okay; it was pretty standard. Our appetizers consisting of the artichoke dip and salad were probably better than our entrees. They could honestly give you more pasta considering the price.

Found on recommendation from my sister easy parking atmosphere was good tables were a little close, but I’m OK with that. Service was excellent nice young lady. Food was most excellent. Would recommend this place and would like to go back for the jazz bar next-door met the owner on the way out told him about our experience. He was much appreciative great place.

Artisanal local food inspired by Italian cuisine. Nice place. Parking: Dense urban area.
