I'll be checking them out more often and reporting back : Old review: I should love this place because I live really close by and they have hearty (but limited vegan options, but honestly, I usually get a bellyache after eating here so I've stopped going. They have a veggie burger, a few vegan sandwiches and usually have about two different vegan pies and cupcakes to choose from (check out their bakery case at the bar . If you're walking through Bay View, this would be a nice place to grab a cupcake to go, or stay at the bar for a drink and eat a slice of pie. It gets busy here during weekend brunch. During the summer they open up a fantastic back patio. Updated from previous review on 2020-01-25
I had an amazing brunch at this restaurant! I would definitely recommend it to anyone. The interior is cozy and stylish, with a breakfast bar and a lovely patio in the back. I have visited multiple times and the service has always been exceptional. I have only tried their brunch menu, but everything I have ordered has been delicious. And make sure to grab a slice of pie to take with you!
Whenever I see such glowing reviews for a restaurant like this, I always wonder if it will live up to the hype when I finally visit. I'm happy to report that the praise is well-deserved! The restaurant is charmingly decorated, we were seated promptly, and our server was attentive and friendly. The drink selection was impressive and catered to all tastes. But let's talk about the food! I had heard great things about their pies, and I can confirm that they are indeed fantastic. What surprised me was how delicious their entrees are as well. The chicken pot pie with biscuit topping was a standout, showcasing the kitchen's skill with pastry. My dining companions also enjoyed their sandwiches. I can't wait to return!
I visited this restaurant for the first time and I will definitely be returning! The service was okay, not excellent. However, the breakfast we ordered was fantastic. I chose the Ham Biscuit but substituted the ham for sausage, and had my eggs cooked over hard instead of sunny side up. The mornay sauce was amazing, but it made the biscuit soggy and difficult to eat like a sandwich. Next time, I will ask for the sauce on the side. Despite this, the dish was still great! My mother ordered the French Toast and she loved it. We also ordered the Two Farm Eggs Anyway, but unfortunately the roasted potatoes were extremely salty and we were unable to eat them.
EXCELLENT! From the service all the way to the dessert, this place is just pure excellence. I’m from Texas, and have been looking for some comfort food that reminds me of home, and this place delivered. That’s not to say it’s specifically Southern or anything, but the Honeypie Burger could probably give anyone a nostalgic feeling. The fries are delicious as well. I love that they have vegetarian and vegan options as well. I had some pie for dessert, and it was exceptional. It’s not too sweet which is why it’s so good. I will definitely be returning.
