Cottons Louisiana - Minden

I was in Minden for some house-sitting and vacation time. Cotton’s was recommended by a gas station clerk. The food did not disappoint! The menu is easily labeled by numbers for easy ordering. I had a four-piece catfish with fries #35, I believe. The fish and fries were made to order. When I got it, it was so hot and fresh and oh so good! If you just happen to be passing through Minden, make sure to give them a try. Highly recommend.

This is a local staple. The fried chicken and chicken livers are all very good. They also have fish, shrimp, gizzards, and oysters.

In town for an entire week from San Antonio, TX on work relates business. I always check yelp for locally owned businesses that have rave reviews. Chain restaurants I can go to anywhere at anytime. So after reading the posted reviews of this what I thought was a mom pop, I think Yelp has the wrong location listed or as I read...may have new owners. First surprise was that I walked in and 4 white women were running every aspect of this place. The posted pics show a black family. But, the menu in the establishment was the same as the posted pics. SO, I ordered the #9. Three breasts, 2 rolls and included sides of mashed potatoes and Cole slaw. I decided to add corn on the cobb and a large drink. Total for my LUNCH was a whopping $17.50. Good thing my company reimburses me for my meals because it was totally not worth what I paid. Only positive thing was that the pieces of chicken were large. Flavor ??? It had none. Nothing special about the crust. Mashed potatoes were definitely instant with no added seasoning. A little pepper would do wonders. The corn on the Cobb was a little nibbler not a whole ear as I saw in a previousI posted photo. All in all, I would have had a better meal at KFC or Churches at half the cost. Have five more days in town and my first review is a bust. Definitely a pass for those reading this review.

By far the best place to get gizzards in Minden. They are always crisp and seasoned perfectly. There isn't any place better to get them in the area. Well worth the drive out of the way to get them. Their chicken is awesome too.

We haven’t had good fried chicken in Louisiana in a while. We decided to try it out based on Yelp reviews. We were very pleased with the friendly service and tasty food. The chicken was juicy and spiced just right. Also the tenders and gravy were real good. Definitely a locals hang out. We enjoyed our lunch there and will definitely stop by again when in the area!
