Not a normal place I would eat, but compared to others, they are not horrible, the place is nice except for the brown water in the toilets and sinks, so was leary about the water I ordered with my food. I forgot to get my softshells without lettuce, but picked it off and still ate the meal. The Asada was overly seasoned and greasy for me but still edible. Must be a newer place.
Delicious and fast meal with very generous portions! We dined at about 6 pm on a Saturday and the dining room was fairly full, yet food for our group of 9 came out very quick and all of the food was so fresh tasting and flavorful. I had the poblano relleno, which was stuffed with shredded chicken breast and covered in a delicious red sauce. I loved it! The rest of our crew ordered a few shrimp dishes and a few combo platters and everyone seemed to love their food and most everyone finished their plates. We'll be back the next time we come through the area! Kid-friendliness: We had a few children under 3 with us and the staff was excellent with them. One of our kids gobbled up his chicken nuggets and fries. And queso dip is always a kid favorite!
We are frequent flyers at El Agave. The salsa is on point, so are the margaritas! The restaurant itself has some wear and tear but the service is fast and the food is reliably delicious. And reasonably priced. My husband always gets the Burrito Grande and I don't think he'll ever change. It was love at first bite.
Mexicana burrito was roast beef. Cheese dip was watered down, water had a hint of soap. Tacos were good, but no flavor combined on the entire meal. We had cheese dip, tacos, Mexicana burrito and rice and beans and an enchilada which was flavorless except the corn tortilla. Bathroom has no soap, and was very dirty. We were traveling and this was a disappointing experience.
