The Harbour Cafe Minehead

During our vacation, we stayed at a comfortable hostel, which was quite pleasant. We shared a delicious mushroom starter, and while my companion really enjoyed her fish and chips, I was disappointed with my choice of hunters chicken—I should have gone with the mussels instead! The desserts looked beautiful and tempting. The beer was excellent, and the service from the staff was even better. I highly recommend it!

I stayed here to begin the South West Coast Path. The rooms are comfortable and clean, though the place shows signs of wear. The pub has an authentic charm, and both the food and drinks were enjoyable. What really stood out was the staff; the manager was fantastic, and the entire team was very attentive. The breakfast was good, although served in a rather shabby dining room, and we received an excellent packed lunch for our hike. I would recommend this place as a starting point for the South West Coast Path, as it’s conveniently located at the trailhead, and we couldn’t find anything else that compared to Minehead.

We returned for lunch and enjoyed a tasty roast; my partner had a drink that he claimed he'd never tasted anything like before. A big thank you to Rosie and her team for making our stay and meals so enjoyable. We even traveled back the following weekend to see them on Saturday! xx

This beautiful, historic building by the harbor showcases its charming old-world character. The entire team is outstanding, led by Rosie, who fosters a customer-centric approach. We spent two nights in a harbor room and dined at the restaurant both evenings. The food was excellent, including breakfast, and we would love to return. It's also very dog-friendly, offering accommodations for pets.

The staff here are incredibly friendly and provide excellent service. Although I only had tea and coffee cake, both were delightful and reasonably priced. The restaurant is dog-friendly and features quirky traditional decor. There’s also outdoor seating with a lovely view of the harbor. Definitely worth a visit!
