Maggi's Cafe Restaurant - MINLATON

The food, service, and atmosphere at Maggi's @ Minlaton are excellent. The lamb shanks are particularly outstanding. The town itself is magical and beautiful, with a Belgian chocolate shop, interior design store, galleries, and this wonderful restaurant. I can't wait to come back for some Italian coffee and breakfast tomorrow!

We visit the Yorke Peninsula a few times a year and happened to be there for Mother's Day, so we found ourselves at Maggi's Cafe on their opening weekend, which was lucky for us! We weren't sure what to expect as there were no reviews, other than some not so favorable ones from when it was under previous management. It's not easy to spot from the street, as it's located in a room within the Minlaton Hotel, but when we walked in we were impressed. The restaurant is a lovely, light-filled space with large windows overlooking a small courtyard. The food was incredibly fresh and we appreciated that they source ingredients from the local community (such as eggs from a nearby farm and sourdough bread from a local bakery). The restaurant was bustling with happy mothers and their families, and despite only being open a few days, the service was friendly and our meals arrived promptly. The only downside was that it was a bit noisy, likely due to the lively atmosphere, but it didn't take away from the delicious meal and welcoming environment. We will definitely be returning!
