We went here for dinner with a couple friends on a Wednesday. The restaurant did not seem too busy, but the service was fairly slow. Overall, the food was not our favorite. I liked my kare-kare steak, but my wife did not like the sisig as there were lots of bits she found unappetizing. The drinks were pretty good, but slow to come. The other thing that was disappointing was there being a service charge on the bill, which we did not think was warranted.I hope this place does well, and that others enjoy their food more, but we do not plan on returning.
This place is great. The vibe is so nice and relaxing. Easy to chill and talk for a long time with friends. The drinks are very interesting. If you're up to experimenting, I recommend their drink menu. The staff is friendly and down to earth. Really can't go wrong with this corner restaurant if you're looking for a fun time outFood: 5/5
I was really looking forward to finally trying this place. The food had been recommended to me by friends, and it's close by. I made plans with family for dinner and made a Friday 6:30pm reservation for 3 online. Which was quickly confirmed. We arrived for our reservation about 5-10 minutes early. When we walked in, we stood and waited at the host stand. It was not very busy. 3 Tables had people eating, and there was a group of people hanging at the bar. 2-2 tops, 2-4 tops and a number of spaces at the bar were open. We stood at the host stand watching staff set up a table for one of their Kamayan dinners. No one acknowledged us. We waited about 5 minutes. Finally the staff member setting up the table came over and asked if we had a reservation. When I told him yes, he took my name, mumbled something about checking on our table and disappeared into the kitchen, never to return to us. We continued to wait awkwardly at the host stand. At this point, discussing if we should just leave and go somewhere else. I checked my phone and we had already been waiting at least 20 minutes. While this is going on some people crammed in behind us, and went and grabbed spots at the bar. Another couple walked in and were greeted by a staff member after a minute, and told without a reservation, it would be a 45 minute wait. Finally after about 5 more minutes, another staff person comes over, asks again about reservations, and then ushers us over to a weird little corner area right by the door where he says we can wait while they get our table ready. He asks if we want to order drinks, brings us menus, then disappears again. Another staff person comes over and asks if we'll be eating at this odd little counter spot. We told her no, we're waiting for a table. She scuttles away. Finally the guy who gave us the menus comes back with waters for us. So against our better judgment, we each order a drink. The drinks come fairly quick, with our server saying something to us that sounded like our table would be ready in either 3-5 minutes, or 35 minutes. None of us were sure. The wait continues. At this point, we've figured out they're waiting for a couple to leave so they can give us their table. We're all still sitting shoved in the corner with our coats on, but at least we have cocktails. Finally the couple leaves and the server who brought us drinks jumps on clearing the table. Keep in mind, this whole business is really confusing us, because half the restaurant is still empty tables. Finally we're seated at a table. At this point, we've been here at least an hour, or more. Our server finally brings us dinner menus. When we order, they're out of the appetizer we want. Our server suggested something else. We go with it. And then the wait continues. At this point, we've figured out what their issue is. They have all these table set aside for parties doing Kamayan meals. All the staff are focused on this, so if you are coming to eat just a regular dinner, you're a side note. At this point, we're still waiting for food. Our appetizer finally arrives and we order another round of drinks. Again, cocktails come quick, dinner does not. We had finished our appetizer, which was huge, and then continued to sit there. By the time our food finally comes, there's live music playing, which is so loud, we have to scream at each other across the table to talk. This was one of the things we were hoping to avoid by coming at 6:30pm. By the time we got out of there, it was almost 9pm. The food and drinks were good, but not worth this kind of time investment, especially with a reservation. Our server comped our first round of drinks in apology for how long everything took, which was appreciated, but not enough to make me want to ever come back, even for take out. As we left everyone in our group agreed, well, we tried it. No need to go back. My suggestion to this place, if you can't handle a party of 3, in addition to 3 parties doing Kamayan, perhaps don
Mom and I went to try this place. The other 2 were disappointing. This was a bit better but still not quite there. The service was wonderful. Very helpful and attentive. We got our drinks and food quickly and at a good pace. The restaurant was cute and cozy. For appetizers, Mom ordered lechon kawali and I had the lumpia. Mom ate all of the lechon and loved it. The lumpia was good but was missing a bit more flavor. For dinner, Mom ordered the pork sinigang and I had longsilog. Mom said hers was too salty. The longaniza was really good and the garlic rice was good.Mom ordered halo halo and I got the leche flan. Mom loved the halo halo except the crushed ice was too hard and the should have used shaved ice. The flan was bland, needed more sweetness, and had an unpleasant bitter note. I make a much better leche flan.Mom and I are willing to come back to try other items.
