I was excited to see that Cajun Twist was black owned! Once I tried the food I had? The catfish nuggets were a bit salty and they did not have rubber bears or cancers, although they were on the menu. I didn't leave myself enthusiastic about the return. I will tell others about it, but I will give Cajun Twist some time to grow and develop.
The gumbo is too watery, and the meat in the gumbo is consistently overcooked. Once there was literally a tiny slice of sausage and an overcooked tiny single shrimp in the $11 plus rubberbo whole containers...total tearing. The staff is nice, but the food leaves much to be desired.
It's a quick lunch. Didn't know what I wanted and was helped by the menu. Last recommendation was ?yaka Mein?. Thanks, the broth was perfectly seasoned and filled with tender beef and spicy shrimps. The side of the maize bread definitely didn't come out of a box!
Oh my goodness, the soulfulness of this food is amazing. They have BEIGNETS! Owner is a woman trained by chefs in New Orleans who has brought her skills to the Twin Cities. There are so few accessible Cajun restaurants in Minnesota, we're SO lucky to have this here.
