The fries were also crispy with a flavored salt. They had excellent drinks selections. **** Mary had a British selection with a scotch egg !!! Ambience was that room but typical pub with Darkwood.... Service was a little bit slow, and the waitress seems challenged, but we ate during a busy lunchtime
Always love a visit to Brits Pub! This time I tried the poutine and the sampler, both great. Would definitely get the poutine again but I didn't love enough of the sampler items to warrant the price. This place always has great service and it's so big so always plenty of seating. We also played a bit of trivia!
For Rugby/Soccer Matches/general 4/5 I come to Brit's every so often to watch rugby. You can usually find a place to sit, the food is tasty (albeit a little pricey), and service does not lack! I've never spent any time on their rooftop, but it's on my list! The parking lot is pretty tiny, but metered parking is also easy to find. For Afternoon Tea 2/5 Afternoon tea is only offered on weekdays which is a bit of a bummer if you work a 9 5. The booking process was fairly easy. I went on a Friday afternoon and was a little disappointed. Tea is situated in a separate room, which was nice, but we were seated right next to the only other party there. It would have been nice to have a bit more privacy. The music volume was inconsistent, at one point it was blaring. The tea selection was fine. I enjoyed them all, but wasn't really given steeping times, so we guessed. There was a wide variety of food choices, which was nice, But some of it seemed like it was store bought and not super fresh. Overall for the price, I would have expected the experience to be a little more elevated. I likely will not return for tea.
Love this place! It's like stepping into Great Britain for dinner. The service was fantastic; our server was polite, professional and very helpful with menu selections as well as drink specials. The scotch eggs were excellent as was the fish chips. The only reason I didn't give a 5 was the hostess; she seemed confused and overwhelmed even though it wasn't busy at all. She sat us in the side room instead of the main dining area, presumably because she didn't know what she was doing. Definitely recommend making a trip to experience this unique place.
Good vibes and great service but food was just ok. Maybe I ordered the wrong dish? I had the cornish pasty which had good salad and fries but the pasty itself was nothing like what I usually had in the UK. The meat and potatoes had some yum-ish flavors but the carrot taste stood out like it's just been added later making the dish much worse. The texture of everything was soft all the way so I don't understand why the carrot didn't have the taste it's supposed to have. It's very hard to finish the pasty. If I wasn't very hungry, I could eat at most half of it. The portion size was worth the price but don't order this dish if you've tried the real and more delicious version in UK.
