We came here the past weekend to celebrate a birthday for my girlfriend. The front staff was nice enough to help put our cake away in the fridge but the wait to get seated took a while. After we got seated we order our drinks n that went fine. We place our order for foods n most of them came in but my order for my soup never came. I asked the waitress to cancel the order if it wasnt made yet and he keep saying its ready. I waited another 30 mins passed by and the soup have not come yet then 1 hr go by and nothing yet. I look over the other table and saw the other people who order after us got their soup. I was hungry and getting upset waiting and waiting. Finally my other girl friend said for me to share with her with the buriito wrap since she couldn't finish it so i did. Then when we got our tab i got charged for the soup which i never got it. I told the server to take it off because they never made it so he did. Overall the service was poor, the food was over price and workers was not organized. I should have got a free meal or discount for waiting for hours! Will not go back here again!
Gave a 1 Star because of the service and wait time for food and drinks. First, they for some reason had lost our reservation for 10 people. So they had my party waiting at the door for sometime. Then they proceeded to seat us at a high table even though we had a 9 month pregnant lady with us and we asked for a low table. Then we had to move to a lower table after about an hour of being there. At this point they had not even taken our food order yet. Food took about 40 minuets after the initial one hr wait. Drinks were about 30 min wait. Granted this was their one year anniversary night.
Slow service/food Food was very very good and waitress very nice but lots of time waiting to have order taken, delivered and check brought.
I’ve always enjoyed The Lotus in Minneapolis both at the original Uptown location (years ago) and I do carry out regularly at the Grant Street location, so I was eager to try this new Uptown location. I was a bit disappointed. It basically is a bar which commands the space. No real character, unfortunately. There was a soccer game playing at the bar with several patrons cheering loudly. So it felt more like I was in a sports bar than a restaurant. I’d suggest separating the dining from the bar by a dividing wall, then dim the lights at night in the restaurant and add candles or something to create more of a dining experience then a Perkins experience! The food was good but not as complete a menu as Grant Street location. I was hoping for the more extensive menu offering. A friend had the Vietnamese salad with tofu but said the tofu was mushy. I had the imperial chicken which was very good as expected. Another friend enjoyed their meal and we shared pork spring rolls which were excellent. I’m adding quite a bit of detail here in hopes that changes will be made so this location succeeds!
