Baan Rao Thai Mini Market - Minot

This used to be my favorite Thai restaurant, but unfortunately, my recent visit was quite disappointing. The food was a bit salty, greasy, and lacked flavor. The vegetables weren't fresh, and the beef was very tough. The curry was just mediocre, and the Thai hot dish barely reached medium heat. I'm not sure if there's a new chef or something else going on, but this wasn't the typical experience I've had at Baan Rao. Overall, I was let down. Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

What a charming little restaurant! The place is spotless, and the food is fantastic. I tried the tom kha and spring rolls, and both were delicious. I would definitely come back to explore more of the menu! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We ordered the Thai-style Bibimbap and Khao Soi. The Bibimbap (photo included) is a fantastic choice for anyone new to Thai cuisine. It's a simple rice dish with protein (chicken for me) and vegetables, topped with a fried egg and served in a clay pot. It has a medium level of spiciness—definitely noticeable but not overpowering. Be sure to mix everything together and enjoy the crispy rice at the bottom of the pot; it’s the best part! The Khao Soi was bursting with flavor and quite filling, with a hint of spice that was just right. The chicken was cooked to perfection, and the fried egg noodles on top provided a delicious crunch. After your meal, don’t forget to check out the small Asian market nearby, which has many great ingredients—perfect for anyone interested in recreating their new favorite dish at home. First time eating here. Food was great. Didn't try anything to spicy because didn't know how spiced up it would be. Little surprised. Could have had little more kick.
