The samosas were just mashed potatoes inside just plan mushy. The tamarind sauce was so strange tasting as well. The vegetable pakora was soggy and the aloo gobi was awful. I would have to say this was the worst Indian food I have ever had. Do yourself a favor drive to Abbotsford for Gians or Delta for Tasty's Indian Bistro and try real Indian food.
When this restaurant first opened up I loved their all you can eat. The butter chicken sauce was phenomenal. My son and I would go frequently. The last time I went the butter chicken sauce did not taste anything like butter chicken sauce. It was red and had a very very sweet flavor. When I brought it to the attention of the manager, he just shrugged it off & ignored my concerns that it was the wrong sauce being served as butter chicken. I again got up & brought it to his attention saying that we paid for buffet to have butter chicken & the sauce was so sweet & did not taste like butter chicken & would not be eating anything more. He took sauce to back, then came back saying "my cook & I both tasted it & it tastes just like butter chicken" Trust me but that was not butter chicken. He did not offer to to give us a discount, not a nothing, just I want your money I don't give a $#@! if you like it or not, or whether it's the right food or not! Not very good business. We have not been back
Every time I've gone to Rabab the wait staff have been polite and kind and the food has always delicious.
This is the best Paneer ever, and we have been to India and have also been to many Indian Restaurants throughout the lower mainland. The flavour was so succulent and rich. Was amazing with the Nan bread. The butter chicken was also very tasty. There was a vegetable dish whose outside was crunchy, and its insides were soft and very flavourful. Service was prompt, friendly, and gracious. Wonderful place for lunch. All you can eat. Beautiful decor.
We went there for dinner after a long day of bird watching (Eagle Season in Harrison Mills) and were very hungry. The first thing I noticed, it was very cold inside. (I know, Canadians are supposed to be tough). The TV, was missing the top half of the picture. The whole place looked like that the Owner forgot about the maintenance for a decade or more. The food, took ages to arrive. Folks arriving after us, already left when we got our meal. (And they left with an unhappy face, too) The plates we got to eat, were dirty. The goat curry I ordered came with 4 (four) pieces of meat. The waitress was nowhere near, until the very end... Good things. The naan was delicious. The korma sauce was good. So maybe, if they would serve enough meat for one adult to eat, it could be a good place to eat. But I have a feeling that this place is going to be closed, before I could give it a second try...
