It is the newest Subway location in Mission and is very clean and beautifully made. The staff is friendly and efficient, providing the expected Subway experience with no surprises. The sandwiches are prepared well by the ladies working there. The new Pepsi dispenser is a nice touch, offering water and flavored water options. The addition of paninis to the menu is a welcome surprise. However, the new spicy chicken tortilla soup has too much cumin, which seems to be a recipe choice from the headquarters. Authentic Mexican cuisine typically uses cilantro instead of cumin. The soup also lacks tortilla strips, making the name inaccurate. The building itself seems to have been poorly designed, with inadequate gardening leading to a shabby appearance. The lack of proper overhangs is particularly notable in a region known for frequent rain. It is puzzling why the urban engineering department allowed this oversight.
I stopped by here for a delicious three meat foot-long sub, which was made to order with their choice of bread. The prices were very affordable and the well-organized employees made this stop well worth it.
The restaurant in the Walmart Plaza is very clean and well air conditioned. It is located next to a Pizza Hut in the same plaza. Although it is a newer establishment, it is not brand new.
If you are coming from Maple Ridge, you will see the first shopping centre to your right ( South) on Lougheed Hwy...and this Subway. You need to make a right on Wren. The newest Subway in Mission. It is very clean and nicely done inside. Staff is friendly. You know what to expect in a Subway, no surprises. The ladies do a great job preparing your sandwich. I like the new Pepsi Dispenser because it has water and sparkling water. I don't drink pop or juice. I noticed there are now paninis in Subway! Their new " Spicy chicken tortilla soup" has too much cumin. Since it is a franchise it is just the recipe the head quarter chose. Mexican food is not big on cumin, cilantro would be more like it. I did not taste any "tortilla", there is some corn but not tortilla, so the name is totally wrong. But again, the soups are a franchise thing. I must point that for being such a new building the builders did a lousy job with the exterior for this Province. Not having proper gutters has this poor building looking shabby at the bottom concrete. all green from the constant splash. That shoe-box design looks good in California or Arizona...Here we deal with lots of rain. I don't know why the Municipal Engineering Department let them get away with no gutters or proper overhangs. Aren't they aware of our weather either?
