Olamendis Mission Viejo

I visit this restaurant for lunch a couple of times each month, and I wouldn't dream of eating Mexican food anywhere else. The food is always delicious!

Was hopeful given some reviews said authentic Mexican food. Far from the truth. The masa from the tamales was super dry, not much flavor, and slathered with cheese (American! Not Mexican traditional food). I had asked for my burrito with sauce on side and no cheese. My burrito came covered with sauce and slathered with cheese. I will say the green salsa had great Mexican flavor. The carnitas were dry and somewhat flavorless, not juicy or tender. The rice and beans were yummy. Guacamole is just smashed avocado with fake tasting powder to preserve, no other ingredients seen normally in guacamole. Worth a try but will not return.

Visiting from out of state and needing a Mexican fix I asked my parents neighbor where was the best place in OC. He sent me here and I wasn't disappointed. They have 5 little tables in this quaint space with a family owned feel. I ordered the fish tacos- phenomenal! They come with an awesome cilantro crema that I wanted to drink. I ordered some enchiladas and burritos to go and after I told the owner how much I love the fish tacos, he added one to the bag Gratis ! Go here- you'll love it!

Olamendi’s in Mission Viejo is one of the best authentic mexican restaurants iv been to. You can really taste the high quality food and comes with an adequate portion. The staff is very friendly and food is cooked quickly so no long wait time. Highly recommend!

...if you want authentic, great-tasting and flavor-packed Mexican food, this your spot! ... you get what you pay for...very fair pricing, given the quality and portion sizes of the offerings ...Pinto beans have amazing flavor...portion sizes on carnitas tacos and salad are twice what you get in many places... salad was as fresh as anywhere I've been, they even add fresh avocado to the salad.
