On the day of my visit, I was only in the mood for something soothing due to my illness, and fortunately, they had laksa noodles. Even better, it was delicious! Enjoying my laksa and unlimited Earl Grey tea certainly helped me drift off to sleep for the eight-hour flight that followed. While there were more guests than I anticipated, and a surprising number of families and children, this isn't an exclusive 18+ lounge. If I had my family with me and had the privilege of accessing the lounge, why would I leave my kids outside? I came across a previous review that began: "It blows my mind to see 4 and 5 star ratings for this lounge. Have you never been to another lounge before?" Well, no, Jordan. I haven’t. I’m just a broke young adult who just finished paying off my student loans. So please, let me enjoy this moment of privilege for once. (17/100) 2018
There has been a noticeable decline in both service and ambiance at the Plaza Premium Lounge in Pearson Airport. The staff shortage is particularly concerning, as receptionists are stretched thin, handling multiple responsibilities. The lounge feels overcrowded and has lost its exclusivity for Amex Platinum cardholders. Wait times for drinks are unacceptably long, and the cleaning staff seem rushed due to the crowding. The value and benefits that were once associated with the Amex Platinum card are diminishing. Given the current conditions, I find it difficult to recommend this lounge.
I stopped by for breakfast before my early flight. This lounge is quite small compared to other Plaza Premium lounges I've visited. They had a self-serve station with scrambled eggs, sausages, quinoa, some pastries, and oatmeal available. The bar wasn't open yet, and there was no made-to-order station like at other lounges. There weren't many tables, and most of them were occupied. The eggs and sausages were just okay; the eggs tasted a bit artificial. Overall, it wasn't great, but I suppose that's to be expected at a lounge.
This lounge has downgraded so much over the years! You could actually get a decent meal and the lounge would always be super spacious and empty just a few years back. Not sure if it 's because they are offering the access privilege to more people now? But the past three times we visited, there were barely any seats. In addition, we were welcomed by clumpy microwaved hot food, half unfrozen veggies, nearly emptied soup bowls. I used to rush my husband out of Maple Leaf lounge for Plaza Premium 's spreads.. long gone are those days.
This review is for the Domestic Lounge at T1 on your right after you cleared Security Checkpoint. The entrance is so small, and I missed it and ended up going downstairs trying to look for it. The lounge itself is the smallest out of all the Plaza Premium Lounge in YYZ. The food area is small but the staff works non stop to make sure everything is stocked and the area clean. Compares to AC Maple Leaf Lounge, the hot food selection is way better but I just found the seating here is too tight. Free admission with certain AMEX membership card or Priority Pass. Or you can pay per entry.
