California Sandwiches - Mississauga

I've been eating veal sandwiches at one of the many California Sandwiches' location for the past 34 years. Started with the most mouthwatering sandwich in 1983 at their original location on Claremont and haven't stopped since. We have not lived the GTA in 25 years but every time we are in the area we stop for veal. On our way in and out of Toronto. Before and after a flight. Nothing tastes better than the crispy veal and bun smothered in plain sauce. Yummmmm!

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. There are a lot of restaurants in this building, but we specifically wanted California Sandwiches. It wasn't very busy.The ordering process was very easy. We sat and waited for the sandwiches. They were REALLY good, hot, and fresh when they arrived. The store itself is very spacious and clean. The artwork is a play on traditional Italian.

Very spot around the noon hour on week days. In middle of a large number of fast food shops but this one seems more popular than most of the others. Service was quick in spite of the line up, although a bit impersonal. Lots of seats in this open area lunch spot. Nothing spectacular but a great veal sandwich.

Been there multiple times with coworkers for lunch and had these sandwiches: Veal. Chicken and Meatballs. I usually upgrade my sandwich to The Works, which is cheese, veggies, hot peppers. The parm sandwiches are so big, you eat one half there, and take the other half to go.

I walked in on 8/24 at lunch for a veal sandwich with onions (took it to go) and the overall experience was great. The service was prompt, the restaurant was clean, and the sandwich was excellent. Very good value for $10.
