We went there for dinner, food is not bad, dishes are small compare to the other similar restaurant in Mississauga, we were thinking to buy the membership card for $300, so you get the member's price, the Peking duck we order is very small portion , u paid $40 for 2 styles with duck, the rice cake for the duck is too hard to chew, and as the manager explain if we order the dish with soup so we don't get the bone of the duck, and that's we can understand, but I do feel cheated after the soup come, there is only 4 small pcs duck bone, well after the dinner we paid around $100 for 3 people, we decide not to buy the membership card, as we think we will go back to the other spicy restaurant , they have 3 dishes with the duck for $45, and you get the bone soup and the fried bone dish, and other food dishes are much big portion for the same price! Service needs more training, looks like they have lot of waitress, but just hanging around there without smile !
Group of us went for lunch on a Sunday, no problem getting two large tables since we were early. Slowly the restaurant became full while we were tasting some of the exotic dishes from Northern China:1. Supreme Beiijing Roast Duck - the best dish of all that we tried. The wrap (blinis) was really thin, lots of garnishes. The duck soup was very tasty. The duck bone salt and pepper option was different. Must try.2. Tossed Mung clear noodles was a cold and vegetarian dish. Worth trying.3. Moo Shu Pork: Should have been served with wrapper. Otherwise it was good.4. Savoury Tianjin Pancake: way too salty, the fried donut and the crepe was very tough. Needs a lot of improvement.5. Chinese Pork Hamburger: the bun was tough although it was very tasty. Worth trying.6. Baked Sweet Potato: better than your ordinary French fries. Worth trying.7. Braised Pork Bone in BS: Came in a large bowl, tasty and good to try.8. Stewed Fish head with bread: way too salty. We were told later you could ask the kitchen to cut down on the salt. Tasty but certainly not worth the money.9. Baozi Stuffed with juicy pork: signature dish and worth trying. There are many unusual dishes that this restaurant offers. It would not be fair to make a final decision without trying at least half of their dishes. If you are adventurous this is the place to sample some of the finest of Chinese Cuisine.
We went there for a few times after opening. The food was decent. The services were not necessarily as good as the decor, but okay. The Beijing Roast Duck probably the one of their top dishes. My favourite was the Tianjin style bun(baozi). I don't think that the red lobster dishes were their strength. Reservation recommended. One thing which we didn't understand that without a reservation, you probably have to wait a little bit longer to be seated even there were a lot of tables available.
The Peking BBQ Duck is a must try. they serve northern Chinese food, and quite decent. We have been there twice in a month and we will go for third time this week. Great to have real Chinese food in Mississauga.
