I went here with a friend as we were walking around for lunch. They had a great special for dinner, so we decided to walk in. At first glance, it was so loud, but that was because they were testing out the speakers for a gig later on. We had a waiter seat us and eventually took our order. We had the 20 piece wings and five festivals and ordered a Mango Island drink.Food came out in two batches to keep it all warm, which we appreciated, and looked a bit small. I had Jerk and BBQ split 50/50. Flavors were great and the drink was refreshing. By the time I finished number 20, I was stuffed. I had no idea what a festival was, but it's a type of fried dough snack and was delicious.Food tasted great and price has fair. Had a good time there!
I visited this place with a colleague since we had tried out most of the food places within the complex that this is situated in. It was my first dining experience of Caribbean food, so pretty tricky to compare it to other places that serve similar food. I ordered the lunch special which cost around 7-8 bucks which comprises of either fried chicken, jerk chicken and another option (which I cannot recall), sider order and pop.I decided to dine in and ordered the jerk chicken along with rice and pop. The food came in no time, fairly warm and the drink served in a glass (sprite). Conclusion:Food was tasty, not fresh as it seemed pre-cooked and pop was completely flat. However, value for money was definitely present as I did receive a pretty decent portion for the price. I would re-visit but as the food is pre-cooked may be not so frequently. Please note that the outside display states 5.99 for a lunch special, but this is the take out option which is a smaller portion. Something that we did clarify in advance.
I had about 30 people for dinner to celebrate my birthday. The tables were set very beautifully, the staff were so friendly and organized. The food was so delicious, my guests were so impressed. Some of the Caribbean dishes I have eaten elsewhere were very oily, but not at Gospel Cafe, the food was great, not oily at all. I will definitely be going back there many times. The coconut fish dinner is to die for!!!
If you enjoy Caribbean food, this is the place to go. If you prefer a peaceful atmosphere, this is definitely the place for you.
