Hakka Ren Chinese Restaurant

This restaurant leans more towards Indian Hakka cuisine rather than traditional Chinese. The dishes had a strong presence of onions and garlic, which added a unique flavor profile to each bite, even in the fried rice. The Schezwan sauce was vibrant in color but lacked the expected level of spiciness. We ordered egg fried rice, cauliflower Manchurian, prawn fried rice, and chili chicken, all of which were generously portioned for two people. The addition of mushrooms in the Hakka menu was a pleasant surprise for me, as I enjoy the lower fat content they provide. The fried rice had a distinct flavor thanks to the onions. Overall, the experience was positive, particularly with the variety of side dishes available.

The restaurant provided high-quality food, excellent service, and a pleasant atmosphere for a perfect evening. Of course, a nice cold beer completed the experience. The food was truly exceptional, with standout dishes like chicken manchow soup and drums of heaven (the best chicken lollipop in a long time). Our main courses, including Szechuan Hakka chow mein shrimp and ginger chicken wet, were also delicious and reasonably priced. Overall, we rated the ambience, service, and food a 4 out of 5.

Haka Ren deserves a standing ovation my sister orders it when she comes over to watch the Raptors game. The Hakka chow mein noodles and Manchurian chicken is very addictive and good combination plus the a small rice is on the house. The sizes are the right amount and the very reasonable paired with a cooler and my Friday night is complete.

Amazing hakka food with decent prices. Chilli chicken, szechuan fish and house special noodles are my go-to dishes everytime. On the downside, vegetarian food is a bit disappointing.

Not sure why several other reviewers had bad experience here. I had a quite good one . Though the restaurant was understaffed, the waiter was very professional and tried his best to help the customers. The 3.5 is definitely for the food which was top notch. Ordered Szechuan chicken and hakka chicken noodles. Very large quantity, I would share one dish with three. Good tasty preparation. I will certainly be back for more.
