I actually heard several microwave beeps, so it could be actually true. We had salmon teriyaki and it was worst salmon I have ever tried - dry, tasteless and old. We had several rolls in bento box included with salmon meal and they were all so bad! shrimp in the rolls again tasted very dry and old, like they used several days old cooked shrimp. Floor wasn't clean, it felt very sticky. Overall we are very disappointed with this place and will never be back.
The restaurant is a cute little family owned restaurant. The owners are very nice and humble. The food is amazing. It's made fresh and its totally worth it.
Delicious Food. Intimate, quietly elegant setting. Amazing service. The sushi chef, Young, is a genuinely kind and always friendly person. Consistently fresh and delicious! I recommend the lobster maki roll, energy roll and veggie dragon maki. The house salad dressing is perfectly balanced and bursting with soy-ginger-citrusy flavour. Love it! Always leave here with perfectly satisfied. Beats AYCE any day, and it's more affordable.
I had a sushi craving and simply went onto my Around-Me app and typed in Sushi and found Odai was only a few blocks away. It took me a bit to get into the strip mall parking lot (you can only enter when going east on Brittania). I ordered some take out - Yam Tempura, spicy tuna hand-roll and one of the maki rolls and took it back to the office too eat. I am not a huge fan of the new breed of "fast-food sushi" with the philly cream cheese and skinny pieces of fish and so I didn't expect much. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The tempura was extremely good, light and not oily. The tuna hand-roll was tasty even though it was one of the chopped up tuna type (I like the full piece of tuna in the hand-roll as found at some of the higher end Sushi places. I still enjoyed it though. The rest of the meal was great and they had thrown in a soup and salad even though I did not order one of the regular lunch packages. The next day I had a friend ask me to go for lunch and so I suggested we try Odai again. We both enjoyed our meal. Lots of food, well-made and great service. Even though the food still boarders the fast-food sushi variety, I have to say that it was better than the average sushi restaurant and since its' such a cute little place with great service, I recommend Odai over some of the others in the area.
A small family owned restaurant !Go for the excellent food and not for an exotic ambiance!Small, clean, efficient and best of all the sushi and other Japanese dishes you'll certainly enjoy!A little hard to locate so use your GPS.The restaurant sign may or may not be working so look carefully and you will soon find it :)Owners are the operators and very friendly!Enjoy!
