She will not give you new plate when you return for second serving. Waste of my time and money. Dont go here. Atmos[here is so bad and hot.She will give bad comment regarding the food of your choice, who is she to do that. We dont want your personal opinion.
This restaurant is a FiIlipino restaurant. Came for late lunch & was surprised they still serve us. You can choose for which food you like since they are already cooked & kept on warmers, so the service was fast. The food taste good & they give you more rice if you like with free soup. I can recommend this place. The price are reasonable.
I took the GO bus from Toronto Union Station going to Erindale station in Mississauga. The ride took about an hour because the usual expressway was under maintenance repairs. The detour turned out to be a wonderful way to see the side streets from Toronto to Mississauga. As a senior citizen, I was charged just a tad below $8 canadian. Now that's looney! When I got off at Erindale, my college classmate was waiting at the covered bus stop where during winter and cold weather, a manual heater provides relief. We drove to Square One area where Quiapo Quiapo is adjacent to.Craving for Filipino food, we ordered pakbet and bicol express like puso ng saging. Like most pakbet outside of home cooked meal, the veggies were overcooked especially the string beans and squash. However, the blending of the veggie juice gave the pakbet its distinct Ilocano flavor Mississauga style. The owner was also the cook and server, typical of Filipino restaurants that find it hard to keep cooks who might have been recruited from overseas or just arrived immigrant since other opportunities arise after getting their permanent resident card.Running a Filipino restaurant is hard and in most cases heart breaking to customers who expect veggies to be Canadian size and fresher. The portions are great. The taste above average although below very good.I would have to give the owner, cook, server excellent rating for the courteous, friendly but apologetic demeanor for wearing 3 hats in one on that day.
Went here with the family for Mother's Day courtesy of my son. We love to eat so we decided to try QuiapoQuiapo after seeing a number of my friends' posts on FB. The restaurant is on a strip mall. Location is quite convenient especially for families like us who trek to Mississauga for our Pinoy food supplies from the Chinese Market on Central Parkway. Parking is not a problem. We had a 2pm reservation but we arrived early. The owner was able to accommodate us which was a plus for us. The place is small but cozy, felt like we were back in Manila. We opted to have the mighty meaty boodle. They began to lay the banana leaves and place the food ala boodle style and it was a feast for the eyes. I must admit I was a bit wary about the amount of food because my family loves food especially when paired with rice so I thought we were going to order extra. So I was surprised when we didn't and we had a lot of left-overs (about three containers worth). Mind you, we came hungry and prepared to eat to our hearts content. The food was typical home-cooked Filipino dishes: adobo, pakbet, steamed okra, pancit and hilabos. They even accommodated my daughter's penchant for vegetarian fare. I loved the mango salad with bagoong alamang; the fried fish was fried perfectly; the shrimp was cooked well; the vegetables were cooked just right. The food was abundant and we were not disappointed. We also had the halo-halo after. One order was enough for three people to share. I think for the price we paid, it was good. Will definitely come back here again.
Went there on a weekend after hitting the nearby grocery store.Place was empty, bought lunch to take home. Tried their well-advertised lechon or roasted pork. Theirs was double the price from other stores, but its the same, same taste, same texture, same old lechon.Fried rice was a bit dry, pancit or noodles were the same, needed more flavour. The 2-star rating goes to the halo-halo we ordered to go. Now, this is dessert! The mixture is the best, so far. Had a few halo-halo from other Filipino stores, this one takes the cup! If you want halo-halo, no need to go to Max's or Barrio Fiesta or Remelys. It's right here.
